In an effort to alleviate radio traffic on the fire frequency (aka Zone 3) and, after several years of requests from the 911 Center, Olyphant Ambulance switched dispatch frequencies. Olyphant Ambulance is now dispatched on the county ambulance frequency, aka Zone 4. The membership felt it was time to "get with the times". Due to increased call volumes throughout the county, radio traffic on Zone 3 has increased exponentially over the past several years. As a non-fire based ambulance service, our presence on Zone 3 was nothing short of a nuisance. While the initial financial burden will be a little tough on our tight budget we feel the overall benefit to the county will be well worth the expense.
